Dear
The enclosed sheet explains how it was discovered that when two dissimilar metals are placed in contact there exists an electrical potential which is capable of producing an electric current.
It must be recognised that neither the existence of the potential nor the production of the current is dependent upon either of the metals taking part in a chemical reaction. It is not necessary for them to corrode, they only have to be different and in contact with each other.
It is my firm belief that it is our ignorance of this principle(*) which is causing many people to hanker for the days before they had their first metal amalgam dental filling.
Could you please supply me with any evidence you have which contradicts this belief.
Kindest regards,
